Just a quick aside before I get started with my first guest post. My name is Joe Schatz and I am proud to call myself a friend of RD’s. This is a new series here at Reservoir Dad. RD has been gracious enough to allow me to introduce you his fine readers to some new music. I am one of RD’s mates stateside, and, I think I speak for both of us when I say, we have always wanted to team up somehow. I used to run a dad blog (that’s how we met), but recently I have taken to doing music reviews and we thought this would be the perfect way to join forces, and I am only too grateful for the opportunity. To the review.
*The first thing you want to do is to begin playing the track–then read my thoughts on it.*
Now that you have the track running, let me give you my thoughts on it. If ever there was a tune that could change the mood for a couple it would be ‘Ivory’ by Movement. The song oozes sexuality. From the breathy sampling to the sultry smooth swooning to the intense bedroom beat that pulses over and over, ‘Ivory’ is a steamy, sexy, hot sound. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to get a sitter for the kids and cover the bed in rose petals, or better yet put the track on repeat on your bluetooth shower speaker while you let the water heat up for some business-time.
This brings me to another aside, I am just wondering how many couples like to listen to music while they are, um–you know–ahem–intimate? Is this more popular abroad than in the US or less? Let me know in the comments.
As for the band Movement, they are a relatively new R&B/Electronic band that specializes in turning people on, and their first EP was released May 1st in Australia. Incidentally, they are from Sydney, Australia and are performing quite a few shows down-unda over the next month or so. Try and check them out if you can.
Let me know what you think of the track by leaving a comment or by pressing the ‘like’ button, and if you get lucky–you’re welcome. 😉
